My passion is to educate you, my client, about buying and selling real estate and to share my extensive knowledge about the local Boulder/Denver real estate markets. Whether you are a seasoned veteran and purchase homes as part of an investment strategy or you are new to the real estate market, I love to share my expertise. I love to see my clients succeed and to fulfill their own personal goals.
I think of real estate as sometimes similar to what an “antique hunter” experiences. I love finding the hidden jewel, the home that has been overlooked by other buyers or has been neglected by its previous owner. I know the neighborhoods along the Front Range: from Capitol Hill in downtown Denver all the way up to the homey community of Old Town Longmont. And I know of everything in between! I grew up in Boulder and now make my home in Capital Hill in the heart of Denver. I have worked since 2003 in real estate for two of Colorado’s premier agencies: Walnut Realty in the heart of downtown Boulder and now Four Star Realty with two convenient locations: one in downtown Boulder four blocks from Boulder’s famed Pearl Street Mall and the other in Denver’s fashionable North Cherry Creek business district, just blocks from my current home.
It’s important to know a little bit about the real estate person with whom you choose to work. Prior to real estate, I was an archaeologist. I worked in the American Southwest and in Colorado for “cultural resource management” companies and taught archaeology at the University of Arizona and at Bosphorous University in Istanbul, Turkey. I’m lucky. The connections between real estate and archaeology have been surprising to me. I guess I have a built in predisposition for appreciating the past. Some of our older Front Range neighborhoods have a charm that folks recognize immediately, but don’t necessarily know how to explain. My experience and background has helped them to articulate that appreciation into a vocabulary that they can take with them to other, newer communities. I recognize that older communities aren’t for everyone; not everyone wants to put up with 100 year old plumbing and electrical systems that were cutting edge when Edison invented the light bulb. But, what I can do is to give you the skills to look for homes that will be comfortable and hold their value and to look for neighborhoods that will give you a strong sense of community.
I look forward to talking to you and to discussing your real estate needs.
